Your Beliefs Create Your Reality. Part 6:

Coping with Uncertainty.

What we believe is a choice, BUT we are not taught this.

When we are old enough to grasp the idea, we are told we have free will which allows us to make our own choices, BUT by that point we have already spent years being indoctrinated into the beliefs of our parents, the culture of our forefathers, and the society in which we live. All too often, the beliefs imparted to us by these three influences are not in agreement. This creates uncertainty in an individual who is trying to establish an identity of their own, BUT their emerging identity is not their own. It was supplied to them by those who disseminate INFORMATION from a position of authority who we are told we should respect. Parents, religious leaders, educators, doctors, the Internet, the media, and government leaders all influence the thoughts of young minds that are trying to establish for themselves what is true, BUT truth is a fallacy and nobody tells us this. There are things currently thought to be true which are passed along to us, BUT there are few real truths which we are privy to.

A truth is a belief supported by evidence and what is thought to be known, a.k.a. facts.

The problem is, all beliefs require a leap of logic which is often referred to as faith.

If we were to teach this simple idea globally, we would end the dark age which has been with our current incarnation of humanity for the last five thousand years. The age of enlightenment, that so many of us crave, begins with a fundamental shift in what we are willing to accept as being true from all the other flawed humans who disseminate information to us.

If we are cautious as to what we allow ourselves to believe, then we can resist indoctrination, and the thought control it represents.

To reach an age of enlightenment we must develop a heightened awareness which means we must see things as they are, and not as we would like them to be. Our propensity for denial, and our dismissive nature that was taught to us, must be replaced with open-mindedness and deep rational thought.

We must question everything we are told to believe that came from a source outside of our own experience.

Our parents were flawed, BUT we usually did not begin to see this until many years passed where we clung to every word they spoke. The INFORMATION they supplied us with helped to form our earliest beliefs. Most of us begin to see that our parents make mistakes, get their facts wrong at times, and are hypocritical at least occasionally. This creates a modicum of skepticism in our young minds the next time they lecture us about something they believe to be important. Our uncertainty began at home.

Religions are flawed because almost all of them have abandoned or corrupted—through interpretation and rationalizations—the good messages of their prophet(s). Most of the top twelve most popular religions have leaders who are a part of a system which is designed to profit from our fear of the unknown. They never give back as much as they receive, and some are wealthy beyond imagination. Many actively promote division from those who do not believe exactly as they do and sexism; while the worst endorse racism and violence or advocate ownership of weapons of violence. They supply us with INFORMATION which we are told to accept without question to prove we are faithful. Many of our beliefs came from a childhood which included religious indoctrination, BUT when we begin to see hypocrisy and inequality within our house of worship, it creates uncertainty that can lead to a crisis of faith in us. If this has happened to you, all you need to do is get back to basics. We are all completely capable of understanding messages of peace and love spoken by the prophets of every religion. We do not need a religious leader to explain peace and love to us. We do not have to be sheep led by a shepherd in order to be believers.

Our education systems are flawed and getting worse. We know this is due to budgetary cutbacks, which are seemingly always on the rise, BUT there are also teachers who believe they have the right to impart their flawed personal beliefs to their students. Many of our beliefs are created by our early years spent in school before the age where we could see a teacher as just another flawed human. Textbooks are out of date and academia is slow to advance new findings, however unimpeachable, which challenge long held beliefs. Students are required to absorb and regurgitate this questionable INFORMATION, learning only to accept or reject facts based on an authoritative source without ever thinking about alternative possibilities or delving deeper into the topic. Uncertainty is created when students find out what they were taught is no longer true. Indoctrination is alive and well in higher education too, where new INFORMATION must be approved for publication by peers who are afraid of upsetting those who fund research. Knowledge is completely controlled by those who supply funding. It appears the so-called elites wish to create and maintain a knowledge gap between what they know and what we are allowed to know. This would explain the budgetary cutbacks in public education. A stupid populace is more easily led. Do not cling too tightly to facts you were given in school. My 1960’s era Encyclopedia Britannica is only good for its old book smell, its ability to flatten a curled piece of paper, and a good laugh when researching anything scientific.

People with credentials are flawed. If doctors were perfect, there would be no need for malpractice insurance. Fact: According to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), medical negligence is the third leading cause of death in the U.S.—right behind heart disease and cancer. In 2012, over $3 billion was spent in medical malpractice payouts. So unless your doctor graduated at the top of his or her class and possesses an eidetic memory, they are flawed; despite the air of arrogance their indoctrination taught them to exhibit. For the sake of your health and that of your family, you need to be uncertain of the INFORMATION you receive. Whether you are dealing with a M.D. or a PHD working with genetically modified organisms, vaccines or cancer treatments, you cannot completely believe what they have to say until you verify who signs their paychecks.

The Internet is a good thing—the last bastion of truth—it cannot be flawed . . . right? If this were so, why did the military industrial complex a.k.a  DARPA give us a billion dollar system free of charge? Fact: The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense in charge of development of emerging technologies for use by the military. Digital communications are a way for you to be known and compartmentalized by all manner of databases that are available to a host of security agencies. These agencies want to know everything about everyone; especially problem children like me who would undermine their authority if we only knew how. The primary purpose of the Internet, aside from creating yet another distraction to tie up the populace, is to create doubt through disinformation practices. By spreading uncertainty, the public puppets controlled by the-powers-that-be create anxiety and fear in the majority of the indoctrinated sheep living within any country. If one thousand scientists say global warming is real, the puppeteers, who wish to maintain the status quo, can put up their own bought-and-paid-for findings to create doubt. Where there is doubt, there will be endless debate without resolution in the on-line community, and the powers-that-be achieve their goal of maintaining the status quo. Did you know smart phones, computers, and smart TV’s are not necessarily off when you power down? It has been proven you can still be tracked, listened to or even watched when these devices are off. Cover cameras and disconnect your Internet cable when not in use. Just how much of your personal information is stored? Buy a new smart phone and magically all your old photos will arrive to your new phone. “The cloud” contains everything you ever communicated or shared on-line. The Internet is a means of controlling INFORMATION to keep sweeping change from happening.

It is the devil’s pipeline of lost souls . . . if you believe in such things.

The media creates uncertainty by supplying INFORMATION that is flawed. It is often poorly sourced, poorly researched, poorly fact checked, and fake news items are becoming more and more frequent. News stories which do not further the agenda of the-powers-that-be are no longer considered “newsworthy”. Omission of INFORMATION is their primary means of manipulation and control of the thoughts reaching a populace. They spread stories perpetuating fear, anxiety, and even hate twenty-four hours a day, because a frightened anxious populace is easier to manipulate into sanctioning retaliatory violence, preemptive violence or even a declaration of all out war. We no longer are shown the destruction our countries military forces are inflicting on less militarily capable countries, and we are never shown civilian targets that were destroyed based on military intelligence INFORMATION.

There is a great deal of uncertainty created by the leaders of most countries these days. Many of these world leaders are exceedingly flawed, and some overtly show off just how damaged they are.  Our democracies are not completely dead. We hold elections. We appear to have a choice of parties. The leaders change frequently. Politicians are, technically speaking, duly elected to lead a party, BUT they are approved and nominated by people within the party with influence a.k.a. special interest groups and the-powers-that-be. As divided as our primary liberal and conservative elements seem to be, they do have one thing in common. They are both equally backed by the-powers-that-be representatives working inside each party. The title of government leader is now a misnomer because the faces we associate with leadership are just marionettes.

The 26th U.S. president, Theodore Roosevelt made this statement about the secret government stating, “”Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people.””

It appears the-powers-that-be existed before America ramped up for production of weapons in WWII creating the military industrial complex.

Dwight D. Eisenhower warned us in his 1961 speech: “”In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”” “”We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.””

We should have taught this in schools, BUT the-powers-that-be did not want this. In 2017, we now take everything for granted and our citizenry is oblivious and being dumbed down.

Just two years later JFK would be assassinated. Some say he was killed because he wanted to create a more transparent government with oversight.

The Washington Post reported a black budget of “$52.6 billion was set aside for operations in fiscal year 2013. The CIA, NSA and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) receive more than 68 percent of the black budget. The National Geo-spatial Intelligence Program’s (NGP) budget has grown over 100 percent since 2004.”

A black budget covers expenses related to military research and covert operations, often without government oversight. The figures shown do not factor in corporate and private money invested in black projects beyond the intelligence agency arena and into space and technology. Some projections are as high as 1.3 trillion dollars—this represents +/- 30% of the entire US economy. The-powers-that-be take from the citizens of the US and other Western countries and then tell us to f@ck off when we want to know how OUR money is being spent. They cite matters of national security to make us go away.

Ethan Wolff-Mann wrote in time.com’s Money Section in an article titled: 7 Amazing Things America Could Have Bought Instead of a $1.45 Trillion Jet: “The F-35 project has been one of the most expensive military projects in history, and will cost upwards of $1.45 trillion by the time it’s over.”

It was this article that prompted this long winded journey. Canada had signed up to purchase this plane even though it does not have the speed or range to be an effective interceptor, nor does it feature the dual engines needed for reliable arctic patrol work. I questioned why Canada had even entertained it, aside from its F/A designation. We need a new multi-role fighter but the F35 is not it. My journey began by asking: Just who is capable of exerting enough pressure for us to make such a bad purchase? Fortunately, our current administration scrapped the F35 purchase, for the time being at least. There is absolutely nothing about this plane which justifies a number in the trillions. We must ask:

If all that money was not spent on this plane, then where did it go?

This is the aviation equivalent to a $1000.00 toilet seat.

In 2008, Barack Obama promised the most transparent administration in U.S. history. “No more secrecy,” he said. “That is a commitment that I make to you.”

Jun 2, 2015 – The USA Freedom Act is modified and signed by President Barack Obama. It essentially continued the Patriot Act which empowered the the secret keepers a.k.a. the FIVE intelligence gatherers and their TWELVE “active” partners to do what they do without being bothered by the administration.

Prior to being elected on Oct 20, 2015, Justin Trudeau promises to repeal ‘problematic elements’ of surveillance Bill C-51.

June 2017, The “anti-terrorism” legislation which resulted in huge protests, petitions, and condemnation from academics, remains in place while discussions take place over the summer.

It appears that both North American leaders ran out of leash when it came to confronting the-powers-that-be about secrecy and intelligence gathering matters.

Who are their masters? I am still working that out for myself, BUT we can definitely begin with the heads of:

  • Office of the Director of National Intelligence
  • Independent agencies
    • Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
  • United States Department of Defense
    • Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
    • National Security Agency (NSA)
    • National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)
    • National Reconnaissance Office (NRO)
    • Twenty-Fifth Air Force (25 AF)
    • Military Intelligence Corps (MI)
    • Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA)
    • Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI)
  • United States Department of Energy
    • Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (OICI)
  • United States Department of Homeland Security
    • Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A)
    • Coast Guard Intelligence (CGI)
  • United States Department of Justice
    • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
    • Office of National Security Intelligence (ONSI)
  • United States Department of State
    • Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR)
  • United States Department of the Treasury
    • Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (TFI)

We can unequivocally state the masters are male.

They support and wish to maintain a patriarchy which has existed for at least 3000 years.

I find it both hilarious and disturbing that despite this massive effort to allegedly keep the populace safe, we are less safe than ever before. It leads one to believe they are not spending our tax dollars on security at all, and possibly, it is these agencies themselves that are creating security threats to justify their existence.

AND . . . what if these guys are just puppets too?

Is there a throne?

(Hint: I do like some of the dot connections made by some of the more intelligent conspiracy theorists, but I am still resistant to alien overlords as the answer. 😀 )

Coping in an uncertain world requires awareness.

I research things, often historical in nature, to piece together a portion of a very big puzzle. By asking big questions like: Who are we? Where do we come from? What is our history? The few truths you find allow you to view only a tiny piece of the immense puzzle. You can guess at what the complete puzzle shows, but that just makes you a conspiracy theorist. Instead, find what factual accounts you can from good sources, and let them lead you not to a rigid belief, but to a possibility which inspires others to pick up where you left off.

Good hunting.

Blog 17: The Irrational Rationality.

HUMANS CAN RATIONALIZE ANYTHING.

Somewhere along the way, I was researching the various religious faiths that showed the number of followers for each. When I added them all together the number came to around 4 BILLION or 66% of the globes population. With that many do-gooders on the planet, you would think that the world would be a much better place than it is.

Here is why Earth is not a paradise.

HUMANS DO NOT PAY ENOUGH ATTENTION TO DIRECTIONS.

HUMANS RATIONALIZE DIRECTIVES INTO GUIDELINES.

HUMANS RE-THINK, RE-WORK AND RE-INTERPRET RATIONAL DIRECTIVES TO SUIT THEIR OWN IRRATIONAL AGENDAS.

More than half of the world’s population is familiar with the following section and most have at least heard of the other lists that follow.

“The TEN COMMANDMENTS”:

I am listing the version that I was taught as a child and will comment on some of the more significant RATIONALIZED versions that are being taught. The order that they are presented has been changed over the years by different religions.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

“Thou shalt make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down to them: …”

“Thou shalt take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; …”

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

“Honour thy father and thy mother.”

“Thou shalt not kill.” This has been changed quite significantly to “Thou shalt not murder.” by some.

“Thou shalt not commit adultery.”

“Thou shalt not steal.”

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”

“Thou shalt not covet… any thing that is thy neighbor’s.”

HOW DID YOU SCORE?

I passed the first two with flying colours. I failed on the third and forth. I passed the fifth and sixth. I passed the seventh using the RATIONALE that I have never been “technically” married. I failed on the eighth, passed the ninth and probably failed the tenth at some point in time.

I have a solid 5 with perhaps as high as 7 out of 10. I can RATIONALIZE that this is NOT BAD.

TEN was just too big for humans to comprehend and with so many it created too many disputes about how to interpret them.

Apparently, Jesus felt the need to summarize the ten down to two big ones.

The Two Great Commandments:

“You shall love the LORD your GOD with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

I am 1 for 2 here.

The Catholic religion added some ideas that are worth of a look.

“The Seven Deadly Sins”:

Lust:               Definitely guilty.

Greed:            I do not think so.

Gluttony:        On occasion.

Envy:              Definitely guilty.

Anger:            Definitely guilty.

Pride:              Probably.

Sloth:              Definitely as a teen.

So I will RATIONALIZE that on a lifetime basis, I scored only a 1 out of 7 but on a daily basis, currently I typically run at only one sin per day so the score looks much better at 6 out of 7. NOT BAD AT ALL.

I guess they realized that nobody was scoring well with the sins list, so they added to it. By allowing followers to RATIONALIZE that they were not all that bad- they would leave church feeling better about themselves.

The better the church made them feel about themselves, the more the followers attended, and the more donations the church received.

“The Seven Heavenly (Capital) Virtues”:

Chastity:                    Not self-imposed.

Temperance:             Yes.

Charity:                      Yes

Diligence:                  Yes

Forgiveness:             Yes, but there is room for improvement.

Kindness:                  Yes

Humility:                    Yes but again there is room for improvement.

So again, I will RATIONALIZE that I scored at least 4 out of 7 and maybe as high as 6 out of 7 depending on the harshness of the evaluator- PRETTY GOOD.

In conclusion I will RATIONALIZE that I am a virtuous sinner.

My overall averaged lifetime score according to religion is 13 for 26. They do not make it clear what a passing grade is though.

I could go PAY to be ABSOLVED of some sins to improve my numbers as many people do; but that is not my way. I will let my record stand for itself.

Now let us explore the ultimate in HUMAN IRRATIONAL RATIONALIZATION.

“Thou shalt not kill.”

This has been changed quite significantly to:

“Thou shalt not murder.”

This one needed modification almost immediately.

How can you have a war, especially a religious war or a religion sanctioned war without killing?

Humans RATIONALIZED that killing each other was necessary.

Humans RATIONALIZED that killing is not the same as murder.

Humans RATIONALIZED that the soldiers and peace officers of the world NEED TO KILL in order to benefit CIVILIZATION.

Of course we cannot have a COMMANDMENT that makes them feel GUILTY for following orders and defending themselves.

FOR 3465 YEARS THIS HAS BEEN THE WAY OF HUMAN CIVILIZATION, and look how well things are going thanks to RATIONALIZATION.

HUMANS NEED SIMPLICITY!

We need a set of guidelines that CANNOT BE MISINTERPRETED TO RATIONALIZE MISDEEDS.

A new release of a greatest hits package could look like this:

The ONE COMMANDMENT:

“BE GOOD.”

A person that possesses conscience, love, honor and awareness is GOOD.

Conscience:

THE CREATOR of all things gave you conscience so that you would know RIGHT from WRONG on a spiritual level.

If you choose misdeeds and ignore your conscience, you will not have a good life.

A conscionable person will not engage in immoral acts.

A conscionable person will not engage in unscrupulous acts.

Love:

THE CREATOR of all things gave you love so that you would know JOY.

First, you must love yourself in order to love others.

Second, you must love all others in order to love all things and THE CREATOR.

A loving person will not engage in jealousy or envy.

A loving person will not kill.

A loving person is overly charitable.

A loving person endlessly forgives.

A loving person shows kindness to all.

Honor:

THE CREATOR of all things gave you honor so that you would know RESPECT.

You must honor all those that do good deeds.

An honorable person will not engage in greed.

Awareness:

THE CREATOR of all things gave you awareness so that you would know LIFE.

First, you must know yourself in order to know others.

Second, you must know all others in order to know all things and THE CREATOR.

You must seek knowledge and wisdom throughout your life so that you may achieve understanding.

A seeker of wisdom is diligent and temperate and therefore is not subject to gluttony or sloth because they understand the inherent dangers of each.

A seeker of wisdom is humble; being able to manage both fear and anger while recognizing pride.

Blog 15.3: Taboo Subjects:

Politics, Sex and Religion!

An age of enlightenment will have to include these talking points.

Part 3: Religion.

I have written more than my share on the topic of RELIGION.

It is not a favorite subject of mine.

It is discussed in my book as a component of good health that I would prefer to label: A PERSONAL BELIEF SYSTEM.

In Blog 6.2: The Fear Lessons, I expressed my displeasure with the moronic stupidity of American main-stream media and particularly, their complete and total lack of research resulting in a misrepresentation of Muslim beliefs.

I am not a Muslim- just a thorough researcher.

In Blog 6.3: The Fear Lessons. I connect the dots between FEAR MONGERING and RELIGIONS.

In Blog 8: A study in positivity. I make reference to souls and Christmas.

In Blog 10.1: I am salmon. Hear me gurgle? I quoted The Serenity Prayer- some of my favorite words of wisdom of all time. This blog delves into many religious concepts like destiny, Karma and reincarnation.

In Blog 10.2: I am salmon. Hear me gurgle? I make mention of the Dalai Lama- a person that I have tremendous respect for.

In Blog 12: “We are gonna need a bigger boat”. I again reference Karma.

In Blog 14: What really went down in The Garden of Eden? I give my comedic take on pre-history but felt the need to preface it- so as not to offend.

Now, this brings us to the final part of Blog 15.

If memory serves, I went to an Anglican church as a child. I was not happy about it. As a family we would get dressed up each Sunday and WALK to church in the hot sun having to wear a suit. My dress-shirt was usually soaked in sweat by the time we got there. I do not know if this was a religious thing or some weird Barker family thing but I concluded that this was dumb.

I liked old Reverend Harding but would rather be out playing with my friends that did not have to go to church. We had a meeting in his office where I challenged the factuality of the stories that I was being taught but the best that he could come back with was: “Sometimes we have to take things on faith.”

It was not a good enough response then and it is not a good enough response NOW!

Approximately 50% of my writing contains reference to religion. At first glance, the statistical numbers would seem to indicate that I am more SPIRITUAL than I let on.

I write about religion because I am concerned by how it is used to MANIPULATE POPULATIONS around the globe both in backward nations and scariest of all- in the most advanced nations of the world.

Escapism is a human trait it seems.

Alcohol abuse, drug use, sex and religion are all things that MAKE US FEEL BETTER FOR A WHILE- helping us to forget our troubles so that the world does not get the better of us. After a short break from REALITY, most humans can muster the strength to continue to STRIVE for something in a very tough world.

If you FEAR death, it is natural that you would want to SEEK ANSWERS to this great UNKNOWN.

  • All religions claim to have the answers but you must take a leap of FAITH.
  • Most require MONEY to prove that you are truly FAITHFUL.

If you BELIEVE you have an IMMORTAL SOUL that will one day reside in paradise, then the FEAR of dying weighs a little less heavily on your mind and you are COMFORTED.

  • Most religions claim that ONLY THEIR BELIEVERS will be allowed into paradise.
  • These religions will only help their fellow man IF THEY ARE OF THE SAME FAITH.

If you BELIEVE your deeds here on Earth will be JUDGED prior to being allowed entrance into paradise; you may try harder to avoid misdeeds and be a GOOD PERSON.

  • Being a GOOD PERSON has been spun by some religions to include MURDER and SUICIDE.

If you NEED FORGIVENESS, you can be ABSOLVED of your wickedness once a week so that you can live with your CONSCIENCE.

  • FOR A FEE you may go out into the world and screw over your fellow man for another six days- GUILT FREE!

If you NEED UNDERSTANDING, it is SOOTHING to BELIEVE that something greater than mankind is making bad stuff happen for a reason.

  • Humans crave RATIONALITY, LOGIC, ORDER and CONTROL, so when the irrational, illogical and chaotic events happen that are beyond our control we need CLOSURE.

I have researched many various religions and ALL have some GOOD MESSAGES for mankind.

I have leaned on MY PERSONAL BELIEF SYSTEM when life has become overwhelming and MY BELIEFS have allowed me to CONTINUE TO STRIVE.

I, like everyone else, do not have ANY ANSWERS to the big questions nor does ANY HUMAN.

Anyone that claims to, is full of shit!

WHAT I DO KNOW is that THE MAKER never intended for us to:

  • Use FEAR of HIM, HER or IT to MANIPULATE people.
  • Use FEAR of HIM, HER or IT to make a PROFIT.
  • Have a CHOSEN group of people that are somehow better that the rest.
  • Help only people of SIMILAR FAITHS.
  • KILL in HIS, HER OR ITS’ name.
  • PAY MONEY for absolution.

My book:

Ms. Creant: The Wrong Doers!

Life with Women: the long awaited instruction manual.

Talks of relationships, health, life, biology, philosophy, sociology, theology, genetics- even physics as well as HOW MANKIND IS ALMOST READY FOR A NEW AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT IF WE CAN SURVIVE LONG ENOUGH TO SEE IT.

This was no fun again.

I hope that I am done with politics and religion.

Sex on the other hand, I will continue to write about as long as I live.

Have a great week and talk openly about whatever suits you at dinner parties.

Blog 6.2: The FEAR Lessons:

PART TWO:

EVIL WORDSMITHS ARE PREYING ON YOUR IMAGINATIONS!

“FEAR IS THE MIND KILLER”– paraphrasing Frank Herbert author of Dune.

Terror: terrified; terrorized.

My latest re-examination of this topic began with me “ACCIDENTALLY” writing a children’s story based on my personal adventures living in the wilderness.

Public Relations work aside; I have never written fiction before. All I did to create this story was to think back to how I was startled, by the then unexplained happenings, and how my mind raced for answers at the time. THIS IS HOW TO STRIKE FEAR IN A HUMAN.

As I wrote, I was smiling and even laughing aloud as I envisioned scaring the crap out of some kids in a tent with a flashlight held to my chin, recounting these tales as though they really had some out-worldly explanation.

But then a thought occurred. These kids would never get to sleep without them knowing the TRUTH of what had happened. If I released these scary stories without teaching children about the IRRATIONALITY OF FEAR, I would have dozens of e-mails from angry parents and camp councilors, “thanking me” for a sleepless night or nights. I was not writing this to give kids nightmares. I am not Steven King. I was writing it to show children how interesting and entertaining reading can be on a rainy night without power whether in a tent, a cottage, or in a city.

So after regaling them with three, SEEMINGLY PLAUSIBLE and VERY REAL SOUNDING scary stories of the unknown and unexplained, I added an epilogue instructing the parent to continue reading.

In simple terms, I explained how I had intentionally MANIPULATED the readers and listeners to make their imaginations run wild.

What I did not tell the youngsters, was that I had covertly scared them into: not going anywhere alone, going inside when they should, wearing life-jackets, and brushing their teeth.

I explained in non-grownup words, the fear-threat response that is genetically wired into us, courtesy of earliest man, and the fight or flight mechanism which creates the feeling of fright, thanks to our adrenal activity.

I walked them through all the stories to show them how I had SCARED THEM WITH WORDS. The messages went something like this:

When we cannot see, we tend to rely on what we hear. Everything seems louder, and bigger, closer, and more dangerous. When trying to interpret sounds, we use our imaginations. Our brains create possible pictures in our head of what we might be hearing, and then we choose one to BELIEVE in based on our knowledge and experiences.

The title made you believe in something IMAGINARY. You were told that the writer had encountered these things in the title when, in fact, he had not. He said he heard things, smelled something, and even was splashed by something, but he never saw it.

You were told about a legend. A legend is just an old story. Stories can be fictional, or in other words, made up in someone’s imagination.

The writer began to scare you with creepy words like: snakes, big dangerous things, lions, tigers, bears, cougars, wolves, bats, owls, and how they come out at night when it is dark, and you cannot see well.

The writer told you this was the third time he had run into this, so you thought it could be true.

In the first story, the writer used more scary words like: alone, the air was deadly still, dark shadows everywhere, and suddenly in the blackness.

A grown-up was telling you that he was scared and went to hide, so you would think the thing must be real, and it scared you.

The writer never saw a thing; he just heard something that his Imagination associated with a sound he had heard before.

He used lots of scary words. He told us a story he had only heard about bears so we don’t know if it is true.

He scared us with words like: no moonlight, eerily quiet, dark black night, something huge, he was alone and scared, and something was not afraid of fire.

The writer told us there must be more than one of the things, to play on our fear of being out-numbered.

The writer scared us some more about being alone and far away from people.

He used scary words like: right behind me, trapped, dark, foggy, could not see, boards creaking, and a bad smell.

So why did he make up a scary story?

Scary stories can be exciting and fun if we do not BELIEVE TOO MUCH of a story.

We are only afraid of things we do not understand, whether it is animals, or people from different countries.

It is here where I realized that I had completely explained fear-mongering to children.

If there is an argument for total honesty with children in the world of psychology, I come down on the FOR side, and I may be alone over there. We want our children to have an INNOCENT, happy, blissful, and care-free childhood that is very unrealistic even in the smallest rural area. As much as we would like to, we cannot create a bubble around our children. Their natural inquisitive nature will take them outside of any bubble parents create for them, and what the child finds outside the bubble, will lessen the child’s opinion of the parents who appear FEARFUL. The child loses respect for parents exhibiting irrational fear.

I finished with this note.

A note from the Author to parents:

Please do not help to make your children live in fear. There are trying times ahead for future generations, and we must stop passing our more ridiculous fears along to our children.

  • Being afraid to go into a lake is ridiculous.
  • Being afraid of thunder and lightning is ridiculous.
  • BEING TERRIFIED OF ANYTHING IS RIDICULOUS.

Having respect for the power of nature is PRUDENT, so long as you are not putting rubber boots on the bed-posts in a lightning storm, and then hiding under it.

When we encounter something new that we do not understand, we are naturally a little afraid and cautious of it until we UNDERSTAND it better.

I cannot believe that there is a need to discuss religion in the year 2015. I thought that humanity would have grown past this by now. As always, mankind continually disappoints. The West is being told to BE AFRAID of unfamiliar religions and peoples, by the media and North American politicians that have shit for brains.

Are we as stupid as the people we put on TV?

The media cites the worst interpreted examples from the Qur’an, and the most radical denominations of Islam, leaving the peace-loving MAJORITY of followers of that faith to try to repair the damage, and it NEVER happens on main-stream media.

WHO IS CONTROLLING MAIN-STREAM MEDIA CONTENT? He, she, it or they are the EVIL we need to be fighting.

I will attempt to clear up some “misconceptions”, a polite Canadian word which in this case means: MORONIC STUPIDITY.

Islam is the second biggest religion in the world next to Christianity. NEITHER PRESENTS “A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER” until we throw in some LOOSE INTERPRETATION like King James did, and like Islamists do; so we have this in common.

There are apparently 72 sects, schools or what we call denominations of Islamic followers. The largest is the Sunni sect and globally and they even outnumber Catholics.

Generations of Catholics have been “at odds” with Protestants in Ireland. I have been to their pubs and drank with both sides. I heard their explanations, but never really got it. Both made good arguments, but neither showed me the necessity for violence, but this is what happens when you mix CHURCH and STATE. My conclusion was they were raised with FEAR, hate, anger, and intolerance, and know nothing else. (I can hear the Facebook UN-FRIEND buttons clicking now.) Generations of Sunni have been at odds with Shias in the Middle East, so we again have that in common.

In researching this paper, I found out that there are 41,000 Christian denominations. THAT IS JUST NUTS. So you can bet your ass that there are Christian radical extremists out there somewhere too.

What is a radical religious extremist?

It is ANYONE who TWISTS THE WORDS of ANY “book of faith” TO DO EVIL, or SANCTION EVIL, and it has been going on for thousands of years IN ALL RELIGIONS.

I HAVE AN EQUAL DISTASTE FOR ALL RELIGIONS.

Here is why:

ALL of them rely on a fallible human student of theology, to ATTEMPT to interpret ancient texts in order to create A VERSION OF EVENTS, that sends a message to followers living in modern times. This CREATIVE WRITING ASSIGNMENT is not always done well, nor is it without bias. A political slant or conclusion is often added to appease whoever was paying the writer. Centuries later the same bad writing assignment will be misinterpreted to suit another political agenda, AND SO IT GOES CENTURY AFTER CENTURY.

  • Most religions practice EXCLUSIONISM. “If you are not ONE OF US you are not welcome here unless you convert.”
  • Most religions tell their followers that they are “THE CHOSEN ONES” making them think they are better than other humans. YOU ARE NOT.
  • Most religions sell you FEAR. Fear of others who do not have the same faith as you, and fear of an afterlife where you will be punished for your sins. Each religion promises that it can save you if you are faithful and PAY.

So, here is my best INTERPRETATION of the Islamic faith and its significant sects, for the brain dead politicians and media types, who just cannot seem to get a handle on the subject:

It can be very confusing, as we in the West separate church, state and law whereas Muslims tend to merge them. THIS MAY BE SINGLE BIGGEST DIVIDING FACTOR as historically, we in the West view this as dangerous. Anytime someone has controlled all three, it led to corruption, totalitarianism, and usually wars.

View Muslims NOT as being part of a singular Islamic religion, but rather as being one of 72 possible Islamic nation states, trying to live within the borders of your nation like an embassy. All 72 have their own take on government, society, and a legal system, whether we in the West agree with it or not. The local Mosque should be thought of more like an Embassy than a house of worship.

Our next problem in the West is that we like to pick a team and stick with it. YOU CANNOT DO THIS WITH THE ISLAMIC SECTS. Every one of the 72 has a different take on religion, societal governance. and jurisprudence. They evolve as well, with some new “up and comers” that leave others in decline.

The West was introduced to Islam for the first time in Iran, when the Shias assumed power after the Shaw was ousted, and those people had a dislike for the Shaw because he was backed by the West. THIS WAS NOT A GOOD INTRODUCTION. A picture was painted of ALL ISLAMIC PEOPLES based on Iran that was not flattering.

I am trying, 36 YEARS LATER, to spread a gallon of paint on a canvas which has become miles wide; but try I will because I am Canadian.

In Iraq it was the Sunnis who backed Saddam, and that also explained, to a large degree, the Iran / Iraq war.

Before we go any farther, we need to clear up some misconceptions:

  • Most Muslims live in Asia and not in the Middle-East.
  • Only about 20% of Arabs are Muslims.
  • 93% of Muslims do not support extremist views on terrorism. There have been far more acts of terrorism against this peaceful group than all the non-Islamic peoples combined.
  • Their books are comparable IN CONCEPT to Christianity’s Old and New Testaments.
  • ON THE SURFACE it appears that Christian people, Jewish people and Islamic people all worship the same GOD, but they all have VERY different takes on prophets, disciples, and the power (if any) attributed to each. Beyond “the Commandments” there is little common ground in those various INTERPRETATIONS of events.
  • Islam is the religion of Muslims.
  • Muhammad is their prophet and Allah is their word for GOD.
  • The Qur’an is their book of faith with the Hadith that teaches a Muslim how to lead their day to day lives in the way of Muhammad.
  • They know much more about Jesus than most Christians know about Mohammed.
  • Islam is the name of a faith. This term is in the Qur’an.
  • Islamic means relating to Islam. This term is in the Qur’an.
  • Islamism means POLITICAL Islam. These terms are NOT in the Qur‘an.
  • Islamist means POLITICAL ACTIVIST with beliefs supporting Islamism. These terms are NOT in the Qur’an.
  • A Muslim is “anyone who submits to the will of GOD” – a follower of ANY interpretation of Islamic faith. This term is in the Qur’an.
  • Iman means faith.
  • Imam is a prayer leader.
  • Jihadism is a Sunni Islamist armed struggle that describes sectarian conflicts with Shia Islam, Sufi Islam, and Ahmadi Islam. These terms are NOT in the Qur’an.
  • Jihadist or Jihadi is a person who believes that ONE ISLAMIC STATE GOVERNING ALL MUSLIMS must be created through violence if necessary. These terms are not in the Qur’an.
  • JIHAD is a word that is found in the Qur’an that SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN REFERENCED BY THE WESTERN MEDIA. It is an INFLAMMATORY word and subject, even among Islamic peoples of differing sects.
  • Jihad has multiple INTERPRETATIONS and therein lies the problem. It means “the cause of GOD.” The literal definition is “striving to achieve a goal.” It also is referred to as “fighting a non-believer in the fields of battle”. I read a story about a man that approached Muhammad and asked simply: What is Jihad? The response he was given made him ask the same question a second time that resulted in the same answer. The positive message that Muhammad seemed to be attempting to pass along was that THE MOST IMPORTANT STRUGGLE IS WITHIN A MAN, and less important are the external struggles he faces in his life. Even in the time of Muhammad, Jihad was a difficult concept.

Now, let us be PERFECTLY CLEAR: I am not a theologian. I am not religiously affiliated. I DO HAVE STRONG PERSONAL BELIEFS WHICH ARE NOBODY’S BUSINESS BUT MY OWN. I am conveying my take on what I read FROM AN ALREADY INTERPRETED TEXT THAT WAS THEN TRANSLATED! It is best that we Westerners do not attempt to weigh in on this conversation.

  • Do Muslims view Westerners as non-believers or infidels? MOST DO NOT.
  • Many do however think that the West has “lost its way” with our endless uncaring exploitation of the planet, and they may well be right about this as are the millions of other people, both religious and non-religious, that think the same.
  • Christians and Jewish peoples are viewed as having a SIMILAR faith by many Muslim peoples. Christians, Jewish people and Islamic people ALL view people of other faiths as infidels. In fact infidel is a term first used by Christians to describe anyone who did not have THE EXACT SAME FAITH OR DENOMINATION. Now there is a small component of Islam that DISTORTS the term the way Christians once did. So we have this in common.
  • About 10 to 20% of Islamic peoples fall into the category of Islamism or Political Islam or Activist Islam or Militant Islam- four names that mean the same thing. These people hold to a totalitarian belief where all aspects of life: social, political and personal are to be “guided” by their ideologies, that were interpreted and delivered by their leaders. Ancient Sharia law is rigidly held to. They want to remove all Western military, economic, political, social or cultural influences from the Muslim world as they believe these to be incompatible with Islam. In other words they want to be left alone to live how they wish. They are isolationists. THEY VIEW NON-INTERFERENCE AS FREEDOM.
  • Sunni Islam is the largest group of Islamic followers with more than 50% of Muslims. Claims have been made that the number could be as high as 80%. This group can be termed the “orthodox” version of Islamic belief. The name is derived from the word sanna meaning “smooth and easy flow” describing (if my INTERPRETATION of an already interpreted and translated document is correct) an easy path to Heaven. They believe their caliph (judge) to be just a man.
  • Shia Islam represents about 13% of Islamic followers and they focus on the teachings Muhammad’s cousin Ali. Sometimes referred to as Shiite, this group considers their Imams (law givers) to be infallible and not mere men.
  • ALL DIVISION BETWEEN SHIA AND SUNNI MUSLIMS BEGAN WHEN MUHAMMAD DIED in 632 A.D. and they have been getting farther apart ever since.
  • The Shafi are the Official Schools of the Brunei and Malaysian governments.
  • The Hanbali school is followed by Muslims in Qatar and most of Saudi Arabia. The Salafist movement claims to follow these teachings.
  • The Zahiri school was once followed by the majority of Muslims going back to Mesopotamia, but now it is a minority community in Morocco and Pakistan.
  • The Salafi sect is about LITERAL INTERPRETATION of the Qur’an.
  • The Wahhabism sect is the dominant Creed in Saudi Arabia.
  • The Ahi al-Hadith is a Sunni movement that started in northern India that are considered Salifi.
  • Then there are the political movements within each.
  • Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimun or Muslim Brotherhood is the largest Sunni movement in the Arab world. They wish to “order the life of the Muslim family.”
  • Jamaat-e-Islami is the oldest Islamic political party in Pakistan and India. The J. I. wish to form Islamic governments in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. They oppose all things Western.

I could go on and on.

Muslim leaders squabble among themselves and always have as did Christian leaders. It is their nature. It is human nature. It is the SAME OLD ONGOING PROBLEM with all humans involved in Religion: NO ONE CAN AGREE ON INTERPRETATION!

The Muslim world can best be described as splinter group after splinter group. I doubt that there is a Muslim who has a handle on all of the sects, just as a Christian could never adequately describe each of the hundreds of denominations.Perhaps this is the biggest reason we in the West have little understanding of the Muslim world.

THERE ARE FEW RELIABLE SOURCES WITHOUT A POLITICAL AGENDA.

The only thing that almost all sects in the Middle East can agree on… IS THAT ISRAEL HAS TO GO.

THE ARGUMENT HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT RELIGION. It is about a questionable claim to ancient RELIGIOUS lands. Religions have just been USED BY ALL THE PARTIES INVOLVED to justify their positions. It has never been made clear why the U.S. backs this nation. All I see is “the haves” kicking the “have-nots”.  I see South Africa all over again. In the 1950’s when Israel backed by Britain and France invaded Egypt, the U.S. sided with Egypt and forced a withdrawal.

I view the U.S. as hedging bets to maintain the oil flow. Years ago, they needed Israel to ward off communism in the region. They also needed Egypt to have a moderate Arab voice in the region, and they had the Shaw of Iran to lend a moderate Islamic voice. Those were the “good ol’ days”.

All out war with Israel means NUKES, NO MORE OIL, and an end to the West’s way of life. We can see why the U.S. protects Saudi Arabia. OIL and a moderate Arab voice combined with a moderate Islamic voice in the region.

THE SAD TRUTH IS that maintaining some semblance of peace in the Middle East means a continual flow of OIL. It has little or nothing to do with religious ideologies.

Are there many assholes in the world who would like to blow us up with a nuke? ABSOLUTELY. Can they pull it off? Few Islamic nations could, and even fewer Islamic terrorists would be capable without SIGNIFICANT OUTSIDE HELP.

Why are so many Islamic peoples emigrating to the West? For most it is fear of terrorism. Some are people just seeking a better life for their children. The most FEARFUL and paranoid among us believe it to be a covert invasion strategy, but they also believe that guns are not a problem in the USA. Should we in the West be concerned about Muslims wanting to be somewhere surrounded by Westerners who have ideologies that Islamic peoples are told to reject? Yes, CONCERN is warranted.

HOWEVER, WE CAN BE VIGILANT WITHOUT BEING FEARFUL.

My book:

Ms. Creant: The Wrong Doers!

Life With Women: The Long-Awaited Instruction Manual.

…talks of relationships, health, life, biology, philosophy, sociology, theology- even physics as well as the idea that HUMANS ARE CAPABLE OF GROWTH THROUGH EDUCATION AND NOTHING ELSE.

MISINFORMATION is the key to successfully manipulating the minds of a FEARFUL populace. It is better known by another word: PROPAGANDA.

Starting in childhood we become suckers for well presented fictitious stories.

SNEAK PREVIEW OF THE BOOK! Ms. Creant: The Wrong Doers.

June 1, 2016 UPDATE:

The book is in, what I hope will be, its final stages before publication.

It is bigger, and I hope better, after another three months of refinement.

Ms. Creant will now (possibly) be deemed appropriate for the YA group, as well as being useful to educators.

I expect a September release.

Overview

I set out to write the definitive guide to women.

Am I an expert on the subject? Statistics would seem to indicate that I have THIRTY TIMES the experience of the average North American male.

Ms. Creant, the book, began as a way to vent my frustration after befriending a severely damaged thirty-nine year old woman, whose duplicitous nature drove me nuts. It was because of her that I read The Wisdom of Menopause looking for answers. What I did not realize until after I had finished reading the book, was that I understood women better than most understood themselves.

As my personality type comes up as ENTP “The Visionary”, I am one of those people who can step outside the box to see the big picture. Having just extricated myself from a stagnant eight year relationship, I was just beginning to adjust when this Ms. Creant came along. Betrayal and resentment are great motivators, if you can hang onto those feelings long enough to complete a book.

Thinking that I might be able to save my two young nephews from making the same mistakes I have made, I set out to write my relationship memoirs. However as I did, I found myself trying to analyse each of those failed relationships, and began to see patterns emerging. The book was evolving into a humorous narrative non-fiction tell-all with hard science that seems to support its thesis. Ms. Creant became a “book of life” or a “book of everything” somewhere along the way, but it always comes back to its central point. Ms. Creant is the book I wish someone had given me as a young man. It is a game changer. It can help society. It may help civilization.

Men the world over are constantly blindsided by the actions of women. Many men are permanently scarred by these experiences. The average guy in North America has less than ten sexual partners, and perhaps three live-with relationships before marriage. Someone had to write a book to help them understand women better, so that they can find closure, avoid negative patterns of behavior, and choose more wisely starting at an early age.

I found Christiane Northrup’s book to be a forced read- a text-book and anything but a page turner. I did not want that for my book.

Women who read the early edition of Ms. Creant made comments like:

“I did not like reading about these women, but I want my son to know that they are out there.”

“There is so much more to the facts of life than just how babies are made. My husband needs to read this.”

“I did not like some of what was being said, but it was not wrong. I could see many of these traits in women I know.”

“I loved the memoirs! I could not put them down.”

Ms. Creant was designed to be for everyone.

It is factual, informative, controversial, helpful, unique and fun. It features stories with sex, violence, and betrayal. It has broad appeal.

The design criteria:

1) It should assist parents in preparing their sons to go out into the world on their own.

2) It should be an easy and fun read. Few people choose to read a text-book.

3) The stories should be hard to put down, and the analysis of each must be brief.

4) The underlying themes should continue throughout each chapter.

5) It should appeal to men of ALL AGES and curious women who are not easily offended- particularly those with sons coming of age.

6) All post-pubescent males should be able to read it or just skim it, and be better informed for their effort.

Although I believe it to be PG13, some parents may believe the language and content to be destructive to a young mind. To them I say: Go on the internet to see what your kids are looking at. Concerned parents who wish to develop a moderated dialog with a young son about girls, sex, drugs, alcohol, acceptable behavior, and the importance of education, can read passages of the book with their son, and then discuss the subject matter.

I wanted the book to be something a parent could buy for themselves, and then pass along to their young adult son who does not enjoy reading. The 16 pt. sub-headings and the index will allow this youngster to skim to what interests him most. Hopefully, he accidentally discovers that reading can be fun, especially when the topic is girls.

7) There must be positive messages.

Stay in school, abstinence, practice safe sex, avoid drugs and alcohol, work on improving yourself, avoid date rape situations, there is a difference between making love and having sex, choose wisely and settle carefully, are just some of the messages contained in the book.

8) There should not be any religious bias or slant but learning about different philosophies is encouraged.

9) The science is a necessary component, but it must be kept to a minimum and presented in an easily understandood form.

10) No matter what the level of the reader; Ms. Creant must be thought provoking!
